And so begins another school year...

We started school today. Yes, I know it's late...long story. I'm teaching 11th grade English this year. I guess I'd better start studying up on my grammar. With my preggo brain, there's no telling how I'm going to speak! I seem to be saying very strange things all the time. Oh...boy!!!

Zoo Day!

We fought the crowds at the zoo for Labor Day. We got there later than we meant to, so we got pretty hot later in the afternoon. Oh, well. It was nice to sleep in!

Apple Picking Day

We have a local farm that does U-Pick throughout the year, and right now it's apple season! We got honeycrisp apples for $1.59/lb. If you've ever bought them in the stores, you know that's CHEAP!! They tell you you "have to" eat one in the orchard while you're picking, too. (Terribly hard to do, you know.)

Hannah had a great time, but she just can't eat the peels, so we had to take hers home. She gave it a good try, though!

Our Spa Day success!

Our pastor's wife has been "stressed out" lately, so our Sunday School class decided to give her a day at the spa for her birthday last month. Everyone was so excited about it, that it spread to the whole church. What started out to be a 1-hour massage turned into a 5-hour "EVERYTHING" package!! She finally went today, and I got to pick her up when she was done. It's just a good feeling when you come up with a great gift idea that WORKS! She looked lovely. She couldn't stop talking about the fancy pedicure. (They did tons more than the average mall-style pedicure.) She got lunch, flowers, hair & makeup done, Swedish massage, and a spa facial. I almost had more fun planning it than if I'd gone myself. (Although I'd NEVER turn down a day at the spa!!)

Trying Something New

I've never really read many blogs, so I don't know exactly what I'm doing! But...I'd like to give it a try! Let's see if I actually keep up with it...
